Run for a Reason charity in the 2015-2016
Chevron Houston Marathon for the fifth year in a row!

The Houston Marathon will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Do you or someone you know want to participate marathon? If so, join #TEAMEPILEPSY!

When you join #TEAMEPILEPSY "Mile for a Moment" you will receive support, a personal fundraising page and toolkit, a personal trainer, access to staff to answer questions and the opportunity to connect with your fellow runners along your journey. Ongoing - Free Legal Clinic

Every third (3rd) Wednesday of the month from 2-4pm. Set up a conference call or stop by the Houston office to discuss legal issues in a confidential setting with an attorney. Schedule an appointment at 888-548-9716. Bilingual attorneys are able to assist you and your family.


Ongoing - Online School Nurse Training

Free, Accredited, Online!

With this nationwide training, the Epilepsy Foundation Texas' goal is to educate 800 school nurses across our service area by the end of the year! Please help us reach out to your school district to schedule a presentation or encourage them to take an online course!

Each school nurse who completes the in-person or online course receives CEU credit hours.

Ongoing - Online EMS Training

Free, Accredited, Online!

Sign up at http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/firstresponders/ and click: Access Trainings! Course code is 05.

The EMS course, about 60 minutes in length, describes a variety of seizures associated with epilepsy, seizures with other potential causes, appropriate EMS response on scene, and issues to be considered when determining whether or not further medical care is warranted. CECBEMS- approved CE lesson will award 1.5 hours of continuing education credit upon successful completion.
